Ineligible for Lost Wage Assistance

If you have received unemployment insurance anytime on or after August 1, 2020 and your compensation is less than $100.00 a week, you may be eligible for Gap assistance through TANF.

TANF NON-RECURRENT SHORT-TERM BENEFITS PROGRAM

Please bring your copy of the letter from the State of Arkansas to the appointment.  Please remember the applicant must meet all of the requirements (1-6) listed below and documentation will be required.  Fill out the items to the best of your ability.  If you have any questions, we can walk you through the items.

​Requirement 1. Eligible for state or federal unemployment benefits, has a weekly benefit amount of less than $100, AND has a demonstrated need for assistance. Need for assistance may be demonstrated by any of the following:
       a. The participant is unable to work due to contracting COVID-19 leading to lost wages.
       b. Children’s school or childcare provider closed due to COVID-19.
       c. Workplace closed due to COVID-19.
       d. Rent or mortgage assistance due to COVID-19.
       e. Utility assistance due to COVID-19. Lost housing due to COVID-19.
​       f. Similar circumstances that are not COVID-19 related, that demonstrate a specific crisis situation or episode of need

Requirement 2. Unemployed or partially unemployed due to disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic

Requirement 3. Family income is less than 200% FPL
    Family Size at 200%
    1 person - $25,520
    2 people - $34,480
    3 people - $43,440
    4 people - $52,400
    5 people - $61,360
    6 people - $70,320
    7 people - $79,280
    8 people - $88,240
    9 people - $97,200

Requirement 4. Custodial parents with a child under the age of 18 or a woman who is currently pregnant.

Requirement 5. Must be a citizen of the United States; or a non-citizen who meets the TANF-eligible citizen criteria.

Requirement 6. Each individual who participates in the program must be in compliance with the Military Selective Service Act [WIOA § 189(h)]. This means that, with certain exceptions, each male must have enrolled for the Selective Service System (SSS) within 30 days of his 18th birthday and before he reaches the age of 26. In general, a man age 26 or older who was not exempt from SSS registration cannot receive services [50 U.S.C. 3801 et seq.].  Females do not have to register and meet this requirement.
